Meet Your Strategist Kyna Baker

We all have a story, which shapes us in every way. Here’s mine.

Now that I have your attention, let me tell you more about who I am and what shaped me.

By the time I was 16 years old, I had lived in four different places, covering two continents, 4 cities. I traveled 10,000 miles to find my way home.

Let me tell you what I mean by that.

I had always wanted my own business. When I was in high school, I dreamed of having my own accounting firm, with my name on the side of a glass building. (I’m a numbers geek by the way!)

I had my first daughter at age 19 and immediately built a professional life that was responsible and secure but was not in alignment with my entrepreneurial dreams. Two husbands and three children later, I finally got the space to leave my full-time well paid and secure job to create my own business.

I was scared but oh, so very ready. I passionately wanted to do things on my own terms and have freedom. Financial yes – but after a lifetime of being told what to do, of being burdened by responsibility, I wanted to be my own boss.

I wanted to build a business that felt like HOME. Safe, secure, beautiful and all mine. For the women I work with, it’s often exactly the same. Business and Home are one, combined together, each making up our whole world.

And sister, we travel a long way to get home.

Growing up, there were many things about my life that were not easy. I share more of those stories over on my blog but the truth is, those things that really challenged me, those experiences that were unfair, they taught me something really valuable.

They gave me the stamina and the ability to adjust quickly to situations that others would find nearly impossible. As a child who grew up in a military household, I traveled all over the world. I learned how to adapt to new environments, be resilient and strategically plan.

Sometimes it was painful, lonely and restrictive for sure.

But that life also gave me a level of confidence and stubborn determination that I can do and be anything I want to – as long as I have the discipline to follow through.

And today, no matter what business crisis or challenging situation appears for my clients, I show up with a calm, capable and clear vision of how to work through it.
